Automatic Timed Shutdown with Command Prompt (CMD)
Hi Guys,
It happens a lot, that we need someone else’ assistance to shut down our computers, in case we have to leave urgently, but we won’t need that assistance anymore.
Why can I need Automatic Shutdown for?
There can be infinitely many scenarios where you might need to shut down your computer after a certain period of time, for example –
- While waiting for a download to complete.
- While waiting for a long antivirus scan.
- While waiting for any thing which is gonna take a predictable amount of time.
- Or maybe playing a cruel prank on a friend ??
For any such event, we can just set the timer 10-15 minutes more than their estimated time of completion and just go on with your other work.
What is Command Prompt aka CMD?
A command prompt is an entry point for typing commands to the computer. By typing commands at the command prompt, you can perform tasks on your computer without using the Windows graphical interface.
You can do almost all the things with CMD, which you can do with the Operating System, sometimes even more.
How to trigger an automatic shutdown?
Follow these steps –
- Press Windows button + R, to get to Run.
- The commands can be directly entered here.
- The command to shut down is shutdown -s
- This command will shutdown your computer in 1 minute. You will get this message.
How to set a time period and other functionalities?
Command to automatic shutdown –
shutdown -s
Command to cancel shutdown –
shutdown -a
Command to schedule shutdown after 5 min (300 seconds) –
shutdown -s -t 300
One can set any amount of time in seconds format, like for 10 minutes, command will be shutdown -s -t 600
Command to add a custom message “LOL :)” with shutdown –
shutdown -s -c “LOL :)”
One can set any custom message, like “Revenged”, command will be shutdown -s -c “Revenged”
Command to restart computer –
shutdown -r
Note –
One can use several of these commands in a single command. For example, commands like the one below will work.
shutdown -r -t 3600 -c “I took my revenge.”

Getting Android 6.0.1 MarshMallow on Samsung Galaxy S4
Hi Guys,
Today, we will discuss how to upgrade your current Android version to Android MarshMallow in Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9500.
Why Android MarshMallow?
The reason I like Android Operating System are the increasing customizability options in the Android updates. It is also the reason I and many other users have to find some ways to get Android update when our device’s vendors are not in likely mood to do so.
Today, I am focussing light on a way to get Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 in Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9500. I’m showcasing this article because of many different reasons. Foremost of which is, I myself own this device, and I would love to use MarshMallow on my Galaxy S4.
About Custom ROM (CM 13)
First of all, I would like to specify that Custom ROM and Custom firmware are one of the same thing. Also I may refer Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9500 as i9500.
Android MarshMallow 6.0.1 is now available to install on Samsung Galaxy s4 GT-i9500 via the CyanogenMod 13, Custom ROM. This CyanogenMod 13 custom firmware is an unofficial release which is based on Android 6.0.1 and comes with various new and different features and customization tools that resemble Android Open Source Project (AOSP) ROM. But as this update/firmware has been developed by third-party developers, and not officially released by Samsung, it is still in beta and there may be quite some bugs, and it is possible that maybe a feature or 2 may be buggy or even not work at all.
About the Developer
The developer behind this project goes by the alias of Alberto96 and belongs to Italy. So far they have been able to get the video, audio, RIL and many other things working perfectly fine. Sadly, the stock camera app is not working; which means some users (not all) might face a problem. As the developer has been working on the build and is fixing bugs every now and then, I wouldn’t be surprised if those broken/buggy issues have been fixed by the time you finish reading and sharing this post.
Bugs and Workarounds
As the stock camera app is still buggy, just download any other camera app from the Google Play Store to use the camera, for e.g. Google Camera.
How to Update GT-i9500 to Android 6.0.1 MarshMallow via CyanogenMod 13 Custom Firmware
Follow these steps (without cheating ??) –
- You need to have these files on a computer. So, download the ROM (279.6MB) from this link
- Now, you also need to download the Google Apps Package (called GApps) from the site OpenGApps.org. Choose options –
Platform : ARM
Android : 6.0
Variant : micro
Download the package with the circular red download button below the form. - Save both files on your desktop. Don’t unzip them.
- Connect your i9500 with your computer with the help of a USB cable.
- Copy those zipped files to your phone’s SD card.
- When the transfer is completed, unplug the USB cable, switch off your i9500 by holding the power button for a few seconds.
- After switching it off, wait for a few seconds. *think about the pollution and plan on planting a tree*
- Now, press the Home button, Power button, and Volume Up button simultaneously to boot the device in Recovery mode.
- Once in recovery mode, use the Volume up/Volume Down buttons to scroll up/down and Power button to select an option.
- First choose “wipe data factory reset” followed by “wipe cache partition” and “wipe dalvik cache”.
- Then, from the same, main menu of recovery select “install zip from SD card” and “choose zip from SD card”.
- Pick the Marshmallow firmware file and install CM13 Custom ROM in your Samsung Galaxy S4. Now CM13, is flashed in your device.
- Repeat the same steps to flash the GApps package too.
- After installation, reboot device, it may take up to 10 minutes to boot. There’s nothing to worry about.
- It will boot up with CyanogenMod 13, which is based on MarshMallow 6.0.1.

How to change your GMail Password? How to secure your Google Account?
Hi Guys,
If you suspect that your hacker friend is secretly using your Google account (which can range from YouTube to a large number of different services by Google) without your knowledge, then you’ve come to the right article.
The easiest way to secure your Google account is to log out from every logged in location and changing your password to a new one.
If anyone’s getting confused, GMail Account is equivalent to Google Account.
STAGE 1 – How to remotely log out of Google?
- Log in to your Google Account on mail.google.com.
- Scroll down the page.
Details - Click on Details near below Last Account Activity.
Remote Logout - A new window will open with a button of Sign out all other web session. Click on it.
- Congratulations, you have successfully remotely logged out of Facebook from every place you forgot to log out earlier.
STAGE 2 – How to change my Google Password?
- Log in to your Google Account on mail.google.com.
GMail Settings - Click on the Gear icon to reveal a menu.
- Go to Settings.
Change Pass - Go to Account and Import tab > Change Password.
Google Login - You will redirect to a page asking you to login again. (This is a just a security measure, nothing to worry about)
New Password - You will this page. Just type in your new password in both the columns. Click on Save Password.

How to change your Facebook Password? How to logout remotely?

The easiest way to secure your Facebook account is to log out from every logged in location and changing your password to a new one.
STAGE 1 – How to remotely log out of Facebook?
- Log in to your Facebook Account, on facebook.com.

- Go to Settings.
Security Settings
- Go to Security tab > Where You’re Logged In > End Activity. End all your activities.

- Log in to your Facebook Account, on facebook.com.
- Click on More to reveal a menu.

General Settings - Go to General tab > Password > New. Set and Type in a new password.
- In Re-type new, type your new password again.
- Click on Save Changes.
- Congratulations, you have successfully secured your Facebook account.

What is Coding?
Coding or Programming refers to the process of writing computer programs.

What are Programming Languages?
Just as different people communicate to one another in different languages like English, French, Russian etc. one can communicate with a compiler to create programs in different languages, or better known as Programming Languages, such as, C++, Python, PHP, etc.

“A programming language is a formal constructed language designed to communicate instructions to a machine, particularly a computer. Programming languages can be used to create programs to control the behavior of a machine or to express algorithms.”

What is a Compiler?
A compiler is a an already made program, which one can use to make new programs.
A compiler compiles our code written in a specific language (say C++), and translates it in the machine language, for the Computer (or any other device), which then understands it and makes our program run.
What is IDEOne and why should I even bother about it?
IDEOne is an online compiler and debugging tool which allows one to compile source code and run it online without the need of any other software. Just click on the IDEOne logo to start coding.
- No prerequisites, i.e. other software needed
- Free to use
- No need to sign-up. Even though you can become a registered user for added benefits like extra 10 seconds of Execution time.
- Supports 60+ languages
- Always up to date with the latest coding conventions
- Include sample codes for beginners
- Share your content over the internet. You can choose your program to be public, secret, or private.
Are there any limitations, of this free service?
Unfortunately, yes there are a few limitations, but they won’t limit your coding potential unless you are a professional coder. Following are the limitations –
- The compilation should not take more than 10 seconds.
- Execution time should not take more than 5 seconds; 15 seconds for logged-in users.
- Your program cannot use more than 256MB memory.
- Your code shouldn’t exceed the size of 64KB.
- Your program can’t access the internet.
Even, if you confront any of these limitations ever, you can just download your program, and run it on any other offline compiler.
