Taig Jailbreak Tool (iOS 8.4)

Hi Guys,

Today, we are gonna discuss about the recently updated TaiG JailBreak Tool v2.4.1 which can jailbreak devices running iOS devices upto iOS 8.4. You can check your iOS version in Settings > General > About > Version before jailbreaking.

If you want to know What is Jailbreaking. Go to this article, it’ll explain you all about it.

What is TaiG JailBreak Tool?

A jailbreak tool named TaiG is released by the TaiG Team and is frequently updated to keep jailbreaking latest iOS version.
TaiG v1.2.1. This tool allows for an untethered jailbreak on devices, running iOS 8.0 to iOS 8.1.2. Read more.
TaiG v1.3. This tool allows for an untethered jailbreak on devices, running iOS 8.2 Beta 2. Read more.
TaiG v2.4.1. This is the most anticipated update of TaiG, because as the jailbreak tool for iOS 8.2 Beta 2 came before a tool for iOS 8.4, many people believed iOS 8.4 to be un-jailbreakable. But nonetheless, Jailbreak community came to rescue as always, this time updating TaiG v2.1.2 to TaiG v2.4.1. This tool allows for an untethered jailbreak on devices, running iOS 8.1.3 to iOS 8.4. Read more by scrolling below.

Who are the TaiG Team?

Team TaiG first launched their jailbreak tool on 29 November 2014 which could jailbreak iOS 8.0 to iOS 8.1.2. Not much is known about this group of Jailbreakers, except that they are Chinese Developers or Hackers. We can say that confidently because both their site is in Chinese language . In early 2015, they updated and revised their existing jailbreak techniques to further develop the tool to make it able to jailbreak iOS 8.2 Beta 2.

And here they come again with further updating TaiG tool to v2.1.2, which can now successfully jailbreak iOS 8.1.3 to iOS 8.4.

How to get it?

To use the TaiG JailBreak Tool to jailbreak your iOS device, first you need to install Taig on your PC, which is easily available to download via the following link of TaiG.com. Download it in your Windows PC. Here’s the link – drive.google.com/installer/TaiGJBreak_EN_2.4.10.zip

How to use it?

Preparation –

i) After downloading the zipped file, unzip it in your PC.
ii) Install iTunes, if not installed already via link 32 bit OR 64 bit.
iii) Backup your device using iTunes (or iCloud) before using Taig. If something breaks, you’ll always be able to recover your data. (Personally I prefer to reset my iPhone and not making a full backup, that’s too slow. iCloud is still a better option regarding speed).
iv) Those who use backup passwords in iTunes must disable them for now. After doing so, iTunes makes a brand new backup. Please wait for that backup to complete before proceeding! Feel free to re-enable your backup password after jailbreaking.
v) Disable the lock pass-code of your iOS device before using TaiG via Settings > General > Pass-code Lock.
vi) Disable Find my iPhone (Settings > Privacy > Location Services) and enable AirPlane Mode via Settings.
vii) Make sure to have at least 80% battery in your iDevice, before jailbreaking.

JailBreaking –

viii) Launch iTunes, plug-in your device, once iTunes identifies your device, Launch Taig and kill iTunes via Windows Task Manager.iOS 8.4 Jailbreak
ix) Keep the Cydia option checked. Make sure to uncheck the second option of 3K assistant or something like that.
x) Click the button of “Start” in the bottom part of Taig window. Just sit back and see its progress.
xi) Avoid using your device or iTunes related tasks until the process is complete. You can just enjoy a brief break from the computer to stretch your legs.
xii) {Optional step} If the process gets stuck somewhere, it’s safe to restart the program, reboot the device (by holding the Power and Home button simultaneously until the Apple Logo appears), and restart the process, with WiFi off.
xiii) Once the process is done, you will find the “Cydia” app on your home screen which is your AppStore for JailBroken devices.
xiv) You can also set a pass code and enable Find my iPhone. Do disable the Airplane mode.
xv) Now enjoy your jailbroken device.

Precautions –

xvi) If you try to update your device’s iOS version through the phone itself (i.e. OTA Updates), it will un – jailbreak your device. Because in higher versions of iOS, often the security holes are patched. These security holes are used to exploit and root the phone which are present in earlier version of iOS.
xvii) But you can again jailbreak the newer version of iOS too.

TaiG’s Gratitude

“This is TaiG’s third time to release a jailbreak tool. For the last two releases, we received great attention from jailbreak users and technology media worldwide, and we want to say thank you.

An untethered jailbreak takes not only a slice of fortune but an ascetic perseverance. XN, as an exploit developer of TaiG Jailbreak team, is in fact lonely, of very few words and a socially challenged person. Even so, there is still one of his rare times to tell us: he wants to let his brain stop thinking.

The most exciting part in jailbreak development is the moment to see Jailbreak Succeeded. It is the recognition and support of our users that drive us to keep moving forward. At this moment, no word can express the appreciation, and no word has no vulnerabilities. XN chooses to dedicate his enthusiasm and energy to coding and programming.

Thanks for Apple for the greatest product of this era. Thanks for all the jailbreak developers to make the world even better.”

Cydia – Jailbroken App Store

Hi Guys,

In an earlier post we discussed the Play Store for rooted Android devices known as Xposed Framework.

Today we are gonna discuss the App Store for jailbroken iOS Devices known as Cydia.

What is Cydia?

Cydia is like an App Store on which all the items (apps, modules, tweaks, emulators, etc.) which needs root access to work properly, or which got rejected by Apple Inc. to be included in the official App Store to protect its the limitations it imposes on its devices.
The foremost thing is it also allows you to change the look of your iPhone, which is the main reason we envy our Android friends. You can select from a variety of themes that can change your icons, wallpaper, dock and status bar, etc. You can even use an application called WinterBoard to changes things like your dialer keypad, your Chat bubbles, the color of the WiFi and Signal bars…etc.

Why use Cydia instead of App Store?

It’s an independent, third-party installer application for all the iOS Devices. Developed by Jay Freeman (Saurik), it’s similar to the official App Store but has even better apps to feature. Many a times, apps featured in Cydia make their place in future versions of iOS.

How to get Cydia?

If you have jailbroken your iOS device via a popular or known jailbreak tool like Evasi0n, Pangu or Taig, you will automatically get the lastest version of Cydia installed in your device. Or else, let us know in the comments.

How to use Cydia?

Once you open it, you’ll find 5 sections. Here are the details:

Cydia – Here you’ll find link to Saurik’s Facebook and Twitter page, some sponsored apps (which are mostly paid), account information (it isn’t needed until you buy a paid tweak or app), user guides, FAQs, community help and some extras.

Sources – All the sources / repositories can be viewed here which were either pre-installed or installed by user. Repositories are an online hub where the developers release and store their tweaks for quick access and installation by anyone. You can add or remove sources by tapping on “Edit”. User shouldn’t install unknown repositories, as they may contain harmful app.

Changes – All new programs and updates can be found here. This particular section is updated every time Cydia is opened.

Installed – This section allows you seen all the things ( apps, tweaks, mods etc.) which are installed in your phone. User can remove anything by tapping it > Modify > Remove > Reboot Device / Respring Device (whichever option is visible). But users should refrain removing pre-installed things which are installed during the jailbreak process. To make sure that, one should only use the User tab from above tabs in this section.

Search – If you know the name of the tweak, you can go to this tab and start searching by entering the name. User can install anything by tapping it > Install > Confirm > Reboot Device / Respring Device (whichever option is visible).

Note – You can also use Continue Queuing option if you want to install or remove more than one thing during a restart.

What is the difference between Respring and Reboot?

Respring means Restart Springboard, it can be thought of as a soft restart, in it only the software restarts making it quicker than a reboot. On the other hand, in a reboot, both software and hardware as well restarts. The software of the iDevice is known as the Springboard.

What is the Safe Mode?

In case anything newly installed, gets faulty like any tweak or module, to prevent any harm to itself, the device will automatically restart in safe mode, in which one can go to Cydia and remove the newly installed package via the Installed Section.

How to buy apps from Cydia?

Cydia offers some awesome paid tweaks to spice up your iPhone or iPad. Cydia allows you to login with a Facebook or Twitter account and pay via Amazon gift cards or PayPal. Payments are easier than you would expect.

About the Developer

Jay Freeman (Saurik) first released Cydia in February 2008 as an open-source alternative to Installer.app on iPhone OS 1.1. On November 5, 2014, Cydia was updated to version 1.1.16. This version included some minor bug fixes.

You can see a demo in the Cydia Gallery. Ask your queries or feedback in the comments.

Evasi0n JailBreak Tool (iOS 6 to 7.0.6)

Hi Guys,

In an earlier post, we discussed different ways of rooting. Today, we are gonna discuss about the Evasi0n JailBreak Tool, which is used to jailbreak devices running with Apple’s iOS. Generally, it is used to jailbreak iOS 6.0.0 to iOS 7.0.6. You can check your iOS version in Settings > General > About > Version. We will discuss every aspect of Evasi0n jailbreak in brief. So, let us start.

What is Evasi0n JailBreak Tool?

A tool named Evasi0n has been released by the Evad3rs Team which allows for an untethered jailbreak on devices, running iOS 6.x.x to iOS 7.0.x.

Who are the Evad3rs Team?

Team Evad3rs was established earlier in 2013, consisting of some of the jailbreak community’s most talented developers: Nikias Bassen (Pimskeks), Planetbeing (David Wang), France-based Pod2g (Cyril) and Los Angeles-based MuscleNerd; all known for producing reliable jailbreaks in the past. ix) Avoid using your device or iTunes related tasks until the process is complete. You can just enjoy a brief break from the computer to stretch your legs.
x) {Optional step} If the process gets stuck somewhere, it’s safe to restart the program, reboot the device (by holding the Power and Home button simultaneously until the Apple Logo appears), and restart the process.
xi) Once the process is done, you will need to unlock your iOS Device, you will find a “Jailbreak” app on the home screen. Open it, the screen will go black for a few seconds.
xii) After some time, the Evasi0n software on the desktop will announce “Jailbreak complete!”.
xiii) It isn’t done yet. Wait for at least 5-7 minutes. Your device will reboot several times to complete the process.
xiv) Once this is done, you will have “Cydia” app on the home screen which is your AppStore for JailBroken devices.
xv) You can also set a passcode and enable Find my iPhone.
xvi) Now enjoy your jailbroken device.

Precautions-

xvii) If you try to update your device’s iOS version through the phone itself (i.e. OTA Updates), it will un-jailbreak your device. Because in higher versions of iOS, often the security holes are patched. These security holes were used to exploit and root the phone, and were present in earlier version of iOS.
xviii) But you can again jailbreak the newer version of iOS too. 😉

Ways of Rooting

Hi Guys,

We have already discussed the disadvantages of Rooting in our earlier post.

Today we will discuss how to overcome those disadvantages.

Root access enables a user to install a powerful and versatile app which itself acts as a gateway to easy, non-destructive device change, namely Xposed Framework.

Fortunately, there is various privacy protector application such as SuperSU that only grants root access to those applications which the user chooses. There are also various root-enabled utilities which are available to help you restore for when something goes wrong, i.e. un-bricking (which we will discuss in brief in another post).

For beginners, one can also use a number of root-enabled application backup tools to back up one’s applications and his/her other information in his/her storage, PC, and even online cloud. Complementing a custom recovery, (which helps in making a backup and flashing things, which I’ll explain in another article), rooted users are able to do a full, system-wide NANDroid Backup that essentially replicates your current smartphone or tablet at any particular time and saves it as a backup.

Root & JailBreak: What are they?

Hi Guys,

Smartphones now being so common in public. Many of the smart phone owners come across words like Rooting and JailBreaking. Today we will discuss about these.

What is Rooting?

Android OS users may have noticed that they don’t have all the necessary control on their device. For e.g. A ZenFone User may think that why can’t he have the features of another phone, let’s say Sony Xperia E3. Having the same Android version, it should be easy for ZenFone user to change ZenUI to Sony’s Xperia UI. But it is not the case. Due to the limitations set by the phone’s manufacturer, a user do not have complete control over his/her device.
The process of getting all the required necessary control of a mobile device via some exploits is known as Rooting.

What is JailBreaking?

iOS users (Apple’s mobile OS) notice this lack of control in a bitter way. They aren’t even able to change their themes, transitions, icons, etc. let alone the features. The process of rooting a iOS device through exploits is termed as JailBreaking.

What are the advantages of Rooting or JailBreaking?

  1. By rooting, we can not only increase our system stability and performance but also Increase our battery backup.
  2. Custom ROMs allow users to update to the latest version of the Android OS before they are officially released for their device, by their manufacturer.
  3. This is a great feature for those who are tech-savvy and want to stay on top of the latest and greatest software updates before it hits the mainstream crowd. This is also useful if one has an outdated device that is no longer being updated by its manufacturer.
  4. By rooting the device, we also gain the ability to unlock some features that the carrier might charge for. One main example is free WiFi and USB tethering, which many carriers charge money for. (I’m not suggesting you do this. But I just wanted to make you aware of the endless possibilities.)
That goes same of the iOS users.

What are the disadvantages?

There are only 2 disadvantages of rooting or jailbreaking (fortunately both of them are curable, although are difficult to cure.)

  1. By rooting, you void your device’s warranty. This means, if anything goes wrong with the device, the manufacture won’t help you at all.
  2. Rooting allow users to view and edit system files, which creates the possibility of deleting any important system file. Thus, it can result in corruption of device, aka Bricking. You may ask your queries in comments below.

That’s all folks.
