MoveIt : Move Media to SD Card | What's that?

Hi Guys,

Long time no see, but here we are back again, to talk about an app, which we didn’t knew existed. No, I mean really, it’s a fairly new app with about 5K downloads. But yet has a lot of potential. Let’s talk about MoveIt.

What is MoveIt?

As the name states, MoveIt is a simple to use app, with a very naïve user interface which helps the user transfer media to SD Card, negating the use of a file manager app.

Where to get MoveIt?

This app is currently available on the Google Play Store, for Android Lollipop and above.

Special Notable Features

  • Internal to External or vice versa

    MoveIt Cleaner
    MoveIt Cleaner

Well that’s pretty self-explanatory, that this app will help you transfer pictures and other medias from phone’s internal memory to an external memory card.

  • Cleaner

It helps in cleaning junk files, and has a striking resemblance to CleanMaster app, but unlike that app it lacks in showing exactly which files, it is going to delete.

That is it will report 2 apk files are to be deleted leaving the user with options such as to delete or not, but not allowing the user to check which apk files are those within the app.

So, that’s a negative point for the app.

  • Easy to use UI

I will give it some points for being simple to use. A simplistic UI without too many buttons or features give it an appealing look, provided that it remains ad-free in the future as well.

  • Auto Transfer

This feature, in theory, should automatically detect new files in a specified folder and automatically move it to another specified folder on the memory card.

One can use this feature to move pictures taken from the phone’s camera to the microSD.

But there are numerous downsides to this feature as –

  1. It requires the app to be working in the background all the time, continuously consuming phone’s resources like battery and working speed (RAM).
  2. Most camera apps these days, have the setting to automatically save the pictures in the desired folder. Especially if the app only supports newer devices such as Android Lollipop and above.
  3. It doesn’t work. It didn’t work for Samsung Galaxy S4 or Moto X2. My co blogger Siddhant was pretty much disappointed by this app.

Final Verdict

My final verdict is this app is in its initial stages, and might do well in the future. MoveItApps, whatever you do with this app, don’t change the simplistic approach of its UI, that’s its biggest feature, yet. Also I like the name, reminds me of a song from Madagascar.
If you enjoyed the app, do tell us in the comments. Here is the download link again, MoveIt.
Also comment, what new features you want in the app, the App Developer will surely read your comments and may add those features in near future.

Freedom 251 | Gaming Review

Hi Guys,

This is TechGlobule. Your Gateway to Technology.

And here we have the Freedom 251 with us. Various people are doubting the gaming capabilities of this phone at the price of just 251 Indian Rupee. So we’ll be doing the gaming review in this video.

We did both heavy gaming as in Asphalt 8, and casual Gaming as in Subway Surfer.

Subway Surfers is a casual endless runner game made by Kiloo. The touchscreen was quite responsive, which obeyed me without lagging at all.

Then, we tried Asphalt 8, made by Gameloft, which comes under the category of heavy gaming. Unlike what we were expecting, we experienced no lags at all, and the gameplay was all smooth.

Play The Little Guardian on your Android device.

The Freedom 251 smart-phone sports a 1.3GHz QuadCore processor which is quite better than a lot of phones out there. Even my YU Yuphoria has only a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core processor.

It also sports 1GB of RAM which helps the case.

CAUTION: IGNORE the way I’m PLAYING the game in the video, I also had to BALANCE the CAMERA.

After the gameplay, the phone was not extremely hot, but yeah the temperatures crossed 35 degree Celsius.

Check out our complete Freedom 251 playlist on YouTube.

Subscribe and Stay tuned for more such videos and posts.

That’s all folks.

Share files from Android to iOS to Windows: SHAREit

Hi Guys,

Today, we are going to discuss about an easy & wireless way to share files among smartphones, tablets and personal computers running different operating systems, through an app initially made by Lenovo known as SHAREit.

What is SHAREit?

SHAREit is the fastest file transferring cross-platform application from Lenovo Pvt. Ltd. that allows you to share photos, music, videos, apps (only in Android) or virtually any file regardless of size and type without the use of internet or wires. Lenovo’s SHAREit wirelessly transfers files & data rapidly between devices – either with friends, or to take your personal content on the go.

Features –

  • It is about 40x faster than Bluetooth.
  • Eliminates the use of Cables, or BlueTooth.
  • There are virtually no limits on the size or type of the file to be shared.
  • Can share any kind of file, from pictures to apps in any format.
  • Did I mention it is free?
  • It is cross-platform & lets you share files between iOS, Android, or Windows Devices, which are the most commonly used operating systems out there.

How does it work?

SHAREit uses the WiFi Direct sharing technology, whereas other apps (mostly) use BlueTooth or conventional Wifi network (or sometimes Internet) which is present nearby.

What is WiFi Direct?

Remember the way you shared your internet data through a personal hotspot, in which your device created a WiFi hotspot and let you share your cellular data (2G, 3G or 4G internet) in the form of WiFi to nearby devices.

Now, WiFi Direct is a technology which allows your device to create such a WiFi hotspot but without the use of the internet, intended with a purpose of sharing files over the network. Thus, you can easily connect with each other without requiring any cables, or the internet; and share files with typical WiFi speeds.

My device doesn’t support WiFi Direct. But still, transfers are Fast. How?

It lets you share files with typical WiFi speeds which can be 20MB/s or even higher in some cases.

For devices, without WiFi Direct, it simply Turns on the Personal Hotspot and does its magic in sharing files hyperfast.

App Requirements

This app requires only about 12.1MB (on average) for storage purpose. It is currently available for Android smartphones, iOS Devices, Windows Phone, and blackberry phones. It also supports Windows Desktop currently and is planning to extend its functioning to the Mac OS.

Supported devices with download link

  • Android Compatibility

It will work with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and above.
It needs around 6.5MB of storage space.
Download from this Play Store link.

  • iOS Compatibility

It will work with iOS 8 or more.
It needs around 29.6MB of space.
Download from this link of App Store for iPhones and iPads.

  • Windows Compatibility

It needs 3.09MB on Mobile devices and 9.2MB for Desktop Devices.
Download from this link of Windows Store for Windows Mobile.
OR from this link of uSHAREit.com for Windows Desktop.

  • Mac Compatibility

It needs around 4.6MB of space.
Download from this link of uSHAREit.com for Mac OS.

How to use?

  • Download and install SHAREit on your devices from the links given above.
  • Once installed, give a specific name to your device.
  • You will get the option to either send or receive.
  • Tap on Send on the device from which you want to share photos, videos, music, contacts, or even apps (only for Android users).
  • Select all the files that you want to share and tap the OK button.
  • Tap on Receive on the second device.
  • For Android: You will see the second device on the first device’s screen Select that.
For Others: You’ll get on-screen instructions, commonly to connect both devices to the same network.
  • Data transfer will start.

Only the TeleCommunication Companies which are stated with Countries would be able to access internet.org. Thus, the number of sites freely available to the user also depends on the country from where it is being used.

Controversies

It has been criticized for violating net neutrality and favouring Facebook’s own services over its rivals. An Indian journalist, in his reply to Mark’s article defending Internet.org in India, criticized Internet.org as “being just a Facebook proxy targeting India’s poor” as it provides restricted Internet access to only Reliance ‘s subscribers in India. Until April 2015, Internet.org users could access (for free) only a few websites, and Facebook’s role as gatekeeper in determining what websites were in that list was criticised for violating net neutrality. Telegram Messenger: What is it?

Hi Guys,

Today we are discussing about the Telegram Messenger, an instant message carrier brought to you by Pavel Durov, who also brought VK.

What is Telegram?

Telegram is an instant messaging system mainly focussed on privacy and multi-platform availability. Telegram clients exist for both mobile (Android, iOS, Windows Phone) and desktop systems (Windows, OS X, Linux).

Telegram is run by a German nonprofit organization backed by entrepreneur and philanthropist Pavel Durov. Its client code is open-source software, while its server-side code is currently proprietary.

In short, Telegram is super fast, simple and way more secure than any of the messaging apps out there.

Features –

  • Connect from most remote locations with even the connections.
  • Coordinate groups of up to 20,000 members.
  • Synchronize your chats across all your devices.
  • Send documents of any type and size.
  • Encrypt personal & secret messages.
  • Destruct your messages with a timer.
  • Store your media in the cloud.
  • Build your own tools and bots on their API.

Why use Telegram when we have Whatsapp?

You might be thinking that why should one even bother about any other messaging app when one can use WhatsApp, following is the list of differences which make Telegram better than any other messaging app out there including WhatsApp.

  • It is cloud-based, which lets you access your messages from multiple devices.
  • It is open source.
  • It is secure. Not only the messages are encrypted but Telegram also offers Secret chat, in which after a set interval of time, the messages are deleted from all the devices.
  • It is distributed. Its servers are spread worldwide to enhance speed and security.
  • It enables you to share unlimited high-resolution photos, videos, and files of any type up to sizes of 1.5 GB.
  • It has Bots. For e.g. Add @ImageBot in your contacts, whenever you message it something like /get Ferrari, it would reply with an image of Ferrari. Telegram supports many different kinds of bots for different tasks. You can even make a bot for yourself if you want to.
  • It supports @replies, mentions and #hashtags. No this is nothing complex. It makes Group Chatting easier. For e.g., if I want to reply to person A in a group of 100 people. I can type @A followed by my message, and only A will be notified.
  • It is free and will stay free forever.

About the Developers

You can follow Telegram on Twitter, for ongoing news about it. Or check out its FAQ section.

Telegram is supported by Pavel and Nikolai Durov.

Pavel Durov is known as the Mark Zuckerberg of Russia because his VK userbase outnumbered Facebook users in own own country that is Russia. Pavel supports Telegram financially and ideologically, while Nikolai’s input is technological. To make Telegram possible, Nikolai developed a unique custom data protocol, which is open, secure and optimized for work with multiple data-centres. As a result, Telegram combines security, reliability and speed on any network.

Sherlock: The Network (Review)

Hi Guys

Today, we are reviewing the Sherlock: The Network game based on the Sherlock series.

Sherlock Holmes

If you don’t know already, Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character created by Scottish author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He is a London-based “consulting detective” whose abilities border on the fantastic, Holmes is known for his astute logical reasoning, his ability to adopt almost any disguise and his use of forensic science to solve difficult cases. Even the police forces and other national security forces approached him on cases where they stuck.

Holmes, first appeared in print in 1887, and was featured in 4 Novels and 56 Short stories. The events in the stories took place from about 1880 to 1914. Most of his stories were written in third person by Dr. John H. Watson, his friend, with an exception of 4 stories.

Take this quiz to find out which Sherlock Holmes are you? I'm Dr. Robert Downey Jr. (thanks for asking).

Sherlock

Sherlock is a British crime drama T.V. series and a contemporary adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes detective stories. Created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, it stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr. John Watson. Nine episodes have been produced, the first three of which were broadcast in 2010. Series two was broadcast in 2012, and a third series was broadcast in 2014. The third series has become the UK’s most watched drama series since 2001. The iMDb ratings for the series are 9.3, in case you wanna watch the whole series like me. 🙂

Critical reception has been highly positive, with many reviews praising the quality of the writing, performances, and direction. Sherlock has been nominated for numerous awards including: BAFTAs, Emmys, and Golden Globe, winning several awards across a variety of categories. The show received the most number of wins at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special for Moffat, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for Cumberbatch, and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for Freeman. In addition, the show was also honoured with a Peabody Award in 2011.

Game’s Storyline

Become one of Sherlock’s trusted lieutenants by joining The Network (the homeless network). Immerse yourself in the world of Sherlock Holmes by joining The Network and helping him solve a series of new cases.

This official Sherlock app contains a lot of exclusive video and audio content featuring Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch), Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman), Mycroft Holmes (Mark Gratiss) and many other characters from the Sherlock series  as well.

Along with above mentioned audio and video clips, it includes a lot of puzzling games, and an entire mystery for you and Sherlock to solve. Answer Sherlock’s messages to source and deliver information to him at 221B Baker Street. Navigate virtual London in search of information. Communicate with Sherlock and others in The Network. The more valuable you are, the higher you will rise in the ranks…

Read more about the game at SherlockTheNetwork.com or follow it on Twitter at twitter.com/sherlocknetwork.

How to get the app?

This app is currently available on Android and iDevices only. The game itself is free, and you can play & solve the first 2 cases without paying a cent. But the rest 9 cases, require an in-app purchase. But I assure you that the game is worth every penny.

Android users can download this app from Google Play Store or Amazon App Store. iPhone or iPod users can download it from this Apple App Store link, whereas iPad users can download the HD version of this app from this link.

If you want to buy the app in China, it is only available via the Tencent store for Android devices and Apple for iOS devices. This version is in Simplified Chinese.

Which devices are supported? What are the system requirements?

The app is supported on Apple devices running iOS 6 and above and on Android devices running Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and above. Note, the app is only available in English and Simplified Chinese.

The app will requires a considerable but justified amount of storage space, so make sure your device have enough space. Android devices need about 720MB of storage space for this app to work properly, whereas iDevice users need about 520MB of storage space.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any further queries about the app, you can view the FAQ section of official website of this app.

Personal Experience

I, being an avid Sherlock Holmes fan, just loved this game, after watching the last episode of the Series which is, “His Last Vow“, I became a highly functioning sociopath with a dull routine (which means I was bored). Everything including my life started to seem slow and dull. Learning some tricks from Sherlock, I could easily guess like what my friends had for their breakfast but that didn’t gave me a purpose, I was just left with an option to wait for the Special episode which will come on Christmas, this year.

Then, I came across this very particular app, this is the best game of Sherlock ever made on a mobile device.

In the game, you play the role of a nameless member of Sherlock’s homeless network, newly inducted and just starting out on initially menial tasks set by the detective. You journey around London by foot, tube or taxi, the latter two options giving the first of the numerous mini-games that make up the structure of the app. The tube mini-game in particular is enjoyably challenging, I’m not giving any spoilers about the puzzle.

It not only exercises our brain with short games, like visual observation skills, taxi puzzles, or completing tubes, audio decryption or images, a bit of code breaking, but also every clue we find has some significance, and at the end, comes the most difficult part, Sherlock’s Mind Palace. The game also features some TV Trivia from the Sherlock series.

Mind Palace is a memorization technique which allows a person to remember every detail or fact he/she ever came across. In the Mind Palace, we have to use our own mind about which of the clues have some relationship and make sense. There is no hint. This is the best part of the game for me. If you are true fan, you will find the relation between clues in a couple of attempts, Or if you are Sherlock Holmes, you will complete the case in the first attempt only.

I would recommend this game to any fan of Sherlock Holmes, either his books or the Sherlock Series. Even those who haven’t heard of Sherlock Holmes, (which is a an unlikely scenario) should try this Detective game and exercise their mental skills and abilities.

How to do In-App purchase for free (Android)?

Hi Guys,

Today, we are gonna learn how to get In-App purchases for free in any rooted Android device by using this famous or I may say infamous app called Freedom.

Why a post on getting in app purchases for free?

TechGlobule by no means is supporting and will never support Piracy. Freedom is meant for fun purposes and making gameplay easier for various different apps.

How does the app works?

Freedom acts as an alternative wallet, featuring payments while in-app purchases in almost all the apps.

Will it support my device?

The official site of Freedom says, they have tested it on Android version 2.3 and above and Google Market 3.10.9 and above. Freedom should be used on earlier versions on own risk.

The app supports all rooted Android devices. It worked fine on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (Android 4.4.2) and Micromax Canvas 2 Plus (Android 4.4.4). You will have to test yourself if you are using a different Android version.

Who’s the developer? and List of Supported Apps

You can research a little bit about the developers behind Freedom on its official website. The nicknames of developers are ZonD80 and MadKite. You can follow ZonD80 on Twitter, if you know Russian.

LocalIAPStore has published a list of supported apps on their blog; although it is incomplete. You can also help in completing that list.

How to get it?

You can download Freedom APK file for Android Kitkat or lower with this link of official website.

Freedom 1.0.7 Alpha is ready for Android Lollipop. Download it in our Android device from the following link of official website.

How to use it?

First ensure that you’ve a Rooted android device. To check if it’s rooted or not, install Root Checker. If it isn’t rooted, check our How to root post. If you have a rooted Android device, follow these steps –

  • After downloading the app, open Settings > Security > Check unknown sources. Then install the app in your phone.
  • Launch the app. It will ask for root permissions. Grant them.
  • A list of apps will appear. These are the apps which support in-app purchase.
  • Select an app.
  • After some loading, the selected app will open.
  • Purchase whatever you wanted to buy.
  • Instead of your Google Play account, a FreeCard will appear. It means Freedom is working. Purchase the desired item.
  • It is possible you may see your registered Card too but if you have seen the FreeCard, then don’t worry, your transaction will still take place with FreeCard.

Enjoy!! It also works offline for offline apps.

You will receive Over The Air (OTA) updates for Freedom, just tap on “Update Available” dialog and update should start automatically.
